Demetrios (Jim) K Kounnis(Chairman)

Mr Kounnis is a multi talented pioneer and a bold thinker. He was born in Cyprus in 1939 and immigrated to the UK in 1958 to further his education. In 1962 he founded the Audit and Accountancy firm D K Kounnis & Co which was subsequently incorporated into the London based Audit and Accountancy firm Kounnis And Partners Limited. He is currently the Chairman of Kounnis And Partners Limited and of several other companies with activities ranging from Audit and Accountancy, General Insurance Broking, Foreign Currency Exchange and Realty.

Over the years he has built up multi million pound property companies which are still under his control and chairmanship. This is mainly UK Commercial, Semi-Commercial and residential properties. Over the last 50 years there isn’t much he has not seen or done in the UK Property sector. Amongst his property collection is the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham (a 44,500 Sq Ft commercial property and of well known presence in the area and nationally). Mr Kounnis is first cousin once removed to the Chief Finance Officer Andreas Y Kounnis and to the Chief Accounting Officer Antony M Kounnis.

Antony M Kounnis (Director)

Antony was born in London in 1973. After completing his studies at The University of East London, he joined Cyprus Airways Limited in 1996 as an internal accountant in their Central London offices. In 1997 he joined a London based firm of Auditors and Accountants where he commenced his professional career. He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1998. Antony joined the London based Audit and Accountancy firm, Kounnis And Partners Limited, in July 2002 and in April 2005 he was admitted to the Board of Directors of Kounnis And Partners Limited and Kounnis Insuforce Plc, a London based general insurance broking company.

Anthony has a wealth of experience in acting for small clients. He understands their needs and gains great satisfaction from assisting them to comply with all regulations in a tax efficient manner. He is also well qualified to offer helpful business advice.

He currently specialises in Accounting and Taxation matters with an emphasis on Property Investment and Property Management companies. He also has experience in Foreign Currency Exchange and General Insurance Broking and is active in his UK based family property business which comprises of managing commercial, mixed use and residential property investments. He is a director of various companies which cater for the above activities as well as the Chairman of a UK based general investment company that he operates with his family. Antony is related to the Chairman Demetrios K Kounnis (first cousins once removed) and the Chief Financial Officer Andreas Y Kounnis (first cousins).

Andreas Y Kounnis (UK resident, Director)

Andreas was born in London in 1978. He graduated with a BA (hons) degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of East London in 1999. At the age of 22 he qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant and he spent the following three years with a London based firm of Auditors and Accountants. In 2005 Andreas was appointed a director of Kounnis And Partners Limited.

Andreas has vast experience in Audit and Accountancy, International Tax Planning, Finance, General Insurance Broking and Property Investment. He has travelled widely to carry out feasibility studies and to assist his clients. He has clients whose businesses operate in different parts of the world and are involved in all kinds of industries and sectors.

Andreas has a wealth of experience in acting for a range of clients. He understands their needs and gains great satisfaction from assisting them to comply with all regulations in a tax efficient manner. He is also well qualified to offer helpful business advice. His strength lies in his hand holding approach towards his clients and the fact that most of them see him as their own personal assistant and business consultant.

Irving Goldin (Consultant)

Irving entered the profession in 1972 having obtained a degree in Economics at the University of Leeds.

He trained with a medium sized firm and gained experience in companies of all sizes ranging from small family businesses to publicly listed companies.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976 and spent a further three years within the profession gaining experience with a wide variety of clients.

From 1979 to 1982 he expanded his knowledge as a full time lecturer in accounting, audit and taxation.

In 1983 he re-entered the profession as a partner in a firm of accountants in Walthamstow. This continued until 1991 when he became the principal of Goldin & Co Chartered Accountants and continued to practise in Hoe Street, Walthamstow. He continued to practise very successfully until November 2016 when his practice was merged into Kounnis And Partners.

Irving has experience with a wide range of clients both large and small. He has great expertise in dealing with family businesses both large and small and is able to offer an expert “hand holding” service to clients who have never been previously self-employed.

Michael Barrs (Consultant)

Michael trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1973 at a small sized West End firm before establishing his own successful practice on Hoe Street, Walthamstow in 1976. Becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales since 1973. Michael's extensive industry expertise spans the breadth of 40 years professional experience across a range of business sectors. Specialising on all areas of small commercial development and growth, Michael understands the business needs of start-ups and small enterprises that enable him to provide relevant insights into their evolving requirements.

Following continual business growth, Michael recently merged his company into Kounnis And Partners to enable him to meet the ongoing requirements of his increasing client base by way of providing them with a larger infrastructure and access to additional services.
